TBY Gives Back

TBY developed the Giveback Program because its about caring for our community, caring about each other, putting all other differences aside and giving back with love.

Throughout the year, we partner with various organizations.  We may ask to help “fill the barrel” with supplies that a local organization is in need of at their facility.  It might be a workshop where proceeds are donated to an organization.  We may even join as a team for a race to help raise awareness about an organization.  Below are ways, our beautiful TBY students have helped.  We are very proud of each and every student and look forward to locking arms at future events.  If you are interested in joining, please feel free to contact us!!

Aug 2017 Girls on the Run of Union County, a nonprofit organization which inspires 3rd-8th grade girls inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. TBY successfully filled a 79-gallon barrel with all the items listed.  It was great watching student after student bring a bag of goodies for the girls.  We will continue this every year in August!  For more information about this organization or would like to be more involved, please visit www.girlsontherun.org or feel free to speak to Kellen Williams, TBY Instructor!

April 2018 Charlie Heart Foundation - When someone in our yoga community suffers, we share their pain and do what we can to lift them up.  Last year our yoga sister, Rebecca Holt, experienced the unthinkable.  Our hearts broke for her then, and she remains close to our meditation intentions as she bravely navigates her way through life after loss.  Rebecca and her family recently launched Charlie's Heart Foundation, and we are honored to present a heart-opening yin and meditation practice to raise awareness and funding for their mission to turn tragedy into triumph for children everywhere.  Joan Wofle taught a heartfelt Yin workshop cultivated with compassion and love.  It was amazing to see everyone rally around this special event.  TBY was able to donate $430 to the Charlie’s Heart Foundation!!  For more information and latest updates on Rebecca Holt’s efforts with her organization, please visit https://charliesheartfoundation.org/

May 2018 Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue – Tammy Edmonds is one of our amazing TBY Instructor’s who has been a Boxer Rescue Mom for more than 5 years and having adopted one herself from this organization 10 years ago.  This workshop was very personal to her and we were honored to help raise $570!!!!  We had some amazing sponsors for this unique workshop.  Special thanks to Barks, Bones and Biscuits who donated an amazing basket filled with over $300 worth of supplies.  Sycamore Animal Hospital donated a basket with great supplies that went to help the current fostered boxers.  Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit Boxer rescue based out of Hickory, North Carolina. Our current coverage area is throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and parts of Virginia. All of our rescued Boxers are in FOSTER HOMES and are not kenneled at a facility. This way, the dogs receive one on one care, as well as the love attention that only comes from being in a family environment. We learn their likes, dislikes, and temperament and can address any illnesses or behavior problems quickly. They live indoors with our own pets, as they are our very own!  Rescue's website is www.blueridgeboxerrescue.com
