New to YOGA
Yoga should make you ask yourself: how do I feel vs how do I look.
All of our classes are accessible to anyone who walks through the door.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the class starts!
What should I do before my first class?
Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day, hydration is very important.
Also, make sure to avoid eating a heavy meal within two to hours of class, a heavy meal may make your yoga practice very uncomfortable.
Please mention any injuries to your teacher as they will be able to provide modifications to standard Yoga poses to help you get the most out of your practice.
What should I bring with me?
Bring a yoga mat if you own one, if not we do have a few available for students, however they are only available on a first come first serve basis. Some students work up quite a sweat, if you think that it would be helpful you are more than welcome to bring a towel with you. The studio provides blankets, bolsters, blocks, sandbags.
You are welcome to bring a bottle of water with you. We ask that cell phones be turned OFF before entering the studio. Please do not leave your device on vibrate. This enhances your experience and is a polite gesture to your teachers and fellow students.
What should I wear?
TBY recommends that our students wear light, comfortable clothing that allows a full range of movement. Layers help to adjust for temperature changes during and after classes. It is best to wear natural fibers. You should also avoid large t-shirts, short shorts, and very loose clothing.
We ask that you remove your shoes prior to entering the practice area. Jackets and personal belongings are to be placed in the closet located inside the studio, not the hallway.
